Hey! I am

Satadru Debnath

(he/him) /sah-tah-dru/

When I first asked myself what I wanted to do, I was sure it would be software development. Back then, I didn’t even know what UX or product design was, which is a far cry from where I am today.

My journey began in late 2016 when I stumbled upon Photoshop while studying. Out of curiosity, I started teaching myself design through YouTube, determined to learn without expensive courses. The more I explored, the more I fell in love with the process.

What started as a hobby soon became more than just spare-time projects. I began freelancing, designing mobile apps and websites for clients worldwide. This real-world experience gave me a new perspective on design.

I found myself thinking beyond aesthetics—considering why certain design choices worked. That curiosity led me to discover "user experience", which opened a whole new path.

The blend of logic, empathy, and creativity in UX excited me, and I dedicated myself to learning everything I could, pushing my skills further. This passion led me to collaborate with startups, helping them grow and improve user experiences—like redesigning an onboarding process that increased retention by 25%

Eventually, I wanted to deepen my expertise, so I decided to pursue a master’s degree in the US. This decision wasn’t just about education; it was about broadening my perspective and diving deeper into this dynamic industry.

I’ve come a long way from those early days of watching YouTube videos and teaching myself Photoshop. Today, I hold a master's degree in UX, and I’m excited about what lies ahead as I continue to design meaningful experiences that make a difference.

If you read till the end - thank you! I am available for Full-time opportunities in Product/UX Design.
Currently based in Boston, MA, open to relocate anywhere in US.
